Holiday activities in the Meuse
Whether you come to Loupmont on holiday, or to take part in tennis tournaments, there are plenty of holiday activities on hand, depending on the time of year. We offer regular visits to the most popular sites, in our minibus, and also organise transport, and accompaniment on request.
For some people going on holiday means restaurants and shopping. Loupmont may be the wrong place for these two popular activities. There are restaurantswithin 20 kms, but you don't have much choice. There are the usual bistros, and pizzerias, and creperies. Some people like snack bars, and kebab shops. If you want a proper à la carte menu, you'll be spending about € 30 / head , and there are some gourmet locations where the meal costs € 60 / head. If you want all of this in a compact area, you may have to drive the 65 kms to Metz, where eating out is much more on the regular habits of the locals. In our rural communities, people don't eat out much. That's why, we offer all meals in the building. We offer a mix of simple British, German, French and Asian dishes, using ingredients sourced where possible locally.
If you like shopping then you'll be disappointed in Meuse. The clothes shops are more frequently the discount chains, and the ladies in our family cannot find anything in there. In Metz however, the centre ville has all the middle market, and some high end market boutiques. To the South-west of Metz, in Jouy, is Waves. This is a one site shopping complex, with all the boutiques. Some travel even as far as Saarbrücken. The prices are more favourable, and there is more choice of international styles.
Activities at Lac de Madine
Our very own activities centre is the Lac De Madine. There is a large beach area. It's a great place for a swim, or a jog, or a bike ride, or a horse-ride, or a round of golf. It's only 20 minutes away from our property.
There are less classical activites too : - adventure park,
pédalos, électric boats, canoëing; water ball et sailing, Paintball
Ballooning,Bowling, Karting, tourist train, Golf, Horse-riding, Windsurfing, Sailing, Pétanque, Cycling, Hiking, Angling.
